Our story...
After moving from metropolitan Los Angeles fifteen years ago to the
ranch in Agua Dulce, my dream of country living was beginning to
take shape. Having been a horse lover since childhood but never
owning my own, I got my very first horse and soon started competing
in Endurance Riding. This was a wonderful break from my career in
hotel management.
But I was looking for something else that would mean a less stressful
lifestyle and give me the opportunity to spend more time on the
ranch with more animals. I heard about alpacas and the lifestyle
they could provide. After doing research online as well as visiting
alpaca ranches in person, seeing these adorable creatures and
feeling their heavenly fleece I was enchanted by them. It didn't take
me very long to buy my first alpacas!

Sweet Water Alpaca Ranch is located in Agua Dulce, a small
ranch community in the mountains of the high desert, just a
short drive northeast of Los Angeles. Nestled in the
mountains at about 3,000 feet, we get an ocean breeze in the
summer and the occasional snow flurry in the winter.
We are committed to quality care and breeding for
excellence, and are committed to sharing our knowledge and
care of the animals with our clients.
